Case study 1 - Depression
Vanessa, 35 had enquired about therapy as a last resort to overcome her depression. She had been in and out of NHS mental health services and had been prescribed anti-psychotic medication and anti-depressants which were having little effect on how we she was feeling. Visiting a therapist was a last resort for Vanessa, she had been recovering from a painful divorce and had been on long term sick leave at her job for many months which she felt unable to return to.
Due to the severity of the condition I worked with Vanessa for several months which included teaching cognitive behaviour therapy techniques, learning meditation, addressing negative thought patterns, self esteem issues and supporting her to feel more in control of her life and future.
Since therapy Vanessa has made dramatic changes to her life and now has a new job which she loves, is studying for an MBA and feels happy and positive about her future and has been free of depression for over 2 years.

Case study 2 - Phobia of enclosed spaces
Eve, 24 had experienced a fear of enclosed spaces including lifts, toilet cubicles and planes since childhood but the fear had progressively increased in severity over the last couple of years. Eve's reason for coming to see me was that she was planning to move to Singapore with her boyfriend to start a new life and the this would involve using lifts all the time as well as having to catch a plane to get there which she found equally terrifying. Eve was terrified at the prospect of even getting into a lift or locking a cubicle door through fear of being trapped. Eve would often use the stairs to avoid taking the lift, she rarely flew for the same reasons. Eve had a short time in which to overcome her phobia which was just over 2 months until she was due to fly out to be with her boyfriend. Her initial fear was a subjective 80% out of 100% at the beginning of therapy.
We worked on the root cause of Eve's fear which included being trapped in revolving doors at a supermarket as a small child, being unable to breathe during an emergency visit to hospital and several other experiences which had impacted and helped to create the phobia in the first place. We used a combination of therapies such as NLP to release the negative emotions from past events, we also worked with cognitive behavour therapy and exposure technique to address Eve's fear help loosen up old ways of thinking and feeling about the feared situtions. Eve would report back each week and by the final session had already used lifts, locked cubicle doors with ease and felt much more in control. Eve has since sent me a postcard from Singapore to say how much she enjoyed the flight and that she cannot believe how far she has come but is delighted with the results.

Case study 3 - Anxiety
Kevin 40, runs his own business and had recognised that his fear of dealing certain situations and people was holding him back from achieving his full potential in many areas of his life. Kevin's goals were to address the root cause of the anxiety and the procrastination he often felt such as overcoming his fear of networking, to improve motivation, improve sleep patterns and to generally feel calmer and more in control. Kevin had also started using maladaptive coping strategies to cope with the anxiety such as smoking and light drinking which he also wanted to address during therapy. We originally took a subjective baseline of Kevin's anxiety which was a 7 or 8 out of 10 (10 being the most stressful) during stressful situations.
Kevin was taught meditation and relaxation techniques which over a 4 week period began to dramatically reduce his anxiety levels. We developed a lifestyle plan to increase his levels of fitness and relaxation. We also addressed the root cause of his fears through using techniques such as matrix reimprinting and eft which help to release painful or traumatic memories from the past often still present in the energy field. Many of these issues were from childhood experiences struggling with lessons at school due to problems with dylexia or fitting in with the rest of his classmates. Kevin was able to meet with his younger self during many occassions and to heal these experiences and let them go. After each session Kevin began to feel lighter in body and mind and by the 6th session Kevin reported feeling 'amazing' and 'powerful', he had let go of his feelings of procrastination. At the last session Kevin said he felt 'like a different person and that he was now attracting positive things into his life' and that he rarely felt anxious and was no longer using his old ways of coping. Kevin now felt ready to set his future goals for his business and personal life which we looked at during the final session.
